Meteor

Let's get it on!

what is meteor?

Meteor is a remote control application that naturally extends your Windows 7 Media Center experience. Meteor integrates seamlessly with your Windows Phone 7 device and puts the power of Media Center into your hands. Meteor is a remote control, but it's a different kind of remote control. It's fast, beautiful and smart.

Meteor makes it easy for you to control all of your media:

  • Music

Your entire music library at your fingertips. Tight control, logical workflow and smart filtering allow you to get to the exact music you want to play quickly and easily. Easily create a playlist on the fly or randomly play; it's all up to you.

  • TV and Movies

Meteor reads TV and Movie metadata from your Media Center to provide you with the rich information you desire. Browse through your TV shows by season or find what you want to play with a smart filter.

  • Recorded TV

Smart filters allow you to discover your most recently recorded shows as well as browse recorded shows by title. Want to watch an episode of a particular show from a year ago? Meteor makes it easy.

  • Guide/EPG

Meteor does the hard work for you by showing you what's playing right now so you can jump to any channel you desire; or if you're interested in what's on later, it's simple to drill down into a channel and set up a recording schedule. All of the stuff you really want to do is simple and fast.

some sweet stuff meteor does

  • Integrated, Fast, Delightful UX

Inspired by Metro and powered by Windows Phone 7, Meteor was born to play in this environment. From the tightly integrated controls, to the subtle, delightful way that it transitions and animates; Meteor showcases a beautiful platform.

  • Tight, Logical Control

Meteor is a different kind of remote control, it doesn't force you to press arrow buttons or confirm buttons to do the things you want to do, but if you really want to, Meteor handles this elegantly.

  • Stay Relevant

Meteor doesn't remove you from your current context. Instead, from anywhere in the application you can control your currently playing media and playlist using an elegant, integrated user interface that mimics the device. You can change the volume of your media center, mute its sound or skip to different tracks.

  • Recently Played/Newly Added Media

You will always know where you've been and always know what's to come; Meteor puts the media that's relevant to you front and centre.

  • Playlist Support

Meteor allows you to quickly and easily create and add to a playlist on the fly. Hosting a party and want to customise the tunes to the crowd? It's as easy as tap-and-hold on what you want to add. If you feel like listening to some genre in particular but don't know exactly what to listen to? Then just randomly play that genre and let Media Center figure it out for you. Want to play that custom playlist you prepared earlier and saved on your PC? Meteor can do that too.

  • Live Tile: New Media Notification

When you've added that killer new album or finished recording your favourite show, you want to know about it. It's easy to set up push notifications in Meteor to let you know when new media has been added to your media center, so you're always connected and always know what's happening.

other rad things

  • Central Hub

Just install a small client service onto any machine that you want Meteor to run on and devices running the Meteor service will be discoverable from the one address. There's no guesswork.

  • Extender Support

Meteor supports all of your media extenders (including Xbox360), so you can control everything!
